2015 Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge for Charity Completed
The Lettingweb team of three members recently completed a 16 mile run from Drymen to Callendar and a 39 mile cycle from Killin to Kenmore, Scotland, in support of the 2015 Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge for charity and raised £1000. A fourth member of staff offered support to the main team.
Participants
The main team of three that completed the challenge include Steven Sibbald, Lettingweb’s Managing Director, Lynsey McMenemy, Account Manager, and Hamish Robertson, Marketing Director. Boris Pommier from the Technical Department offered the much needed support by driving the team’s support car between checkpoints.
Challenging Right from the Start
At the beginning, the team had to grapple with a huge number of midges. The three were forced to set off immediately after leaving the team’s car as the midges bit them almost suddenly. Nonetheless, the support the team received from the organisers was amazing.
“There were people at every point over the 55 miles and none of us felt lost,” says Hamish Robertson, Marketing Director at Lettingweb.
The weather was also good considering the forecast was of a possible shower, but it was overcast and sunny just before the end of the challenge. The captivating Scottish scenery was beautiful and breathtaking but the team didn’t have much time to see it unfold before them.
“The picturesque surroundings were remarkable but we knew the tough challenge that lay ahead of us,” said Steven Sibbald, Lettingweb’s Managing Director. “We avoided distractions as much as we could.”
The finishers were met by world renowned cyclist Marc Beaumont, as the team raised £1000 for the charities supported by the 2015 Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge. The team is intensely thankful for all the support accorded to them.

While it was hard as the team got closer to the finish, they loved it and glad they participated. In fact, they had planned to camp overnight after the challenge, but the midges had started coming out in force again. They had to head back to Edinburgh.
